Hawaii Convention Center Shuttle & Hotel Transportation for Citywide Meetings
Oahu Genius plans contracted hotel loops between Waikiki and the Hawaii Convention Center. It does not run a standing public shuttle. Oahu Genius is the only known Hawaii-based DMC that owns and operates its own transportation and is federally licensed to train CDL drivers. Do you need a shuttle to the Hawaii Convention Center?
It depends on how widely the hotels are spread, the session schedule, the weather, accessibility, and whether guests also move to evening events. Most citywide meetings with a Waikiki-wide hotel block do contract a loop. Some nearby hotels are close enough that attendees walk.

How a Waikiki-to-convention-center hotel loop works
Route design starts from hotel clusters and the session clock. Stops are grouped so one loop can cover nearby properties. Peak waves follow the opening of sessions and the close of the day. Off-peak headways are lighter. The quote states the hours once the program schedule is known.
Short hops among nearby Waikiki hotels are often a trolley. Longer hotel-to-convention-center legs are often motorcoaches. Many programs mix both, as Pacifichem did. ADA-accessible vehicles are available.
Public trolley tickets are booked through Trolley Tickets Hawaii. Pearl Harbor visitor information is on Pearl Harbor Official. Both are part of the Oahu Genius family of sites. The convention loop itself is a custom group quote, not a public ticket.
Case study: Pacifichem
Pacifichem 2025 ran December 15–20, 2025, with more than 10,000 attendees from 68 countries. Sessions were at the Hawaii Convention Center, Hilton Hawaiian Village, Sheraton Waikiki, and Sheraton Princess Kaiulani. Seven sponsoring societies hosted the congress: the American Chemical Society, the Canadian Society for Chemistry, the Chemical Society of Japan, the Chinese Chemical Society, the Korean Chemical Society, the Royal Australian Chemical Institute, and the New Zealand Institute of Chemistry. Oahu Genius ran trolley and motorcoach loops from Waikiki hotels to the Hawaii Convention Center and provided registration staff, ASL interpreters, and an opening-reception cultural program.
The official hotel map also listed guest-room hotels: Ala Moana Hotel, Hyatt Regency Waikiki, Royal Hawaiian, OHANA Waikiki East, Prince Waikiki, Outrigger Waikiki Beachcomber, Romer Waikiki at the Ambassador, Moana Surfrider, and Alohilani.

Staffing the loop
A citywide loop is also a staffing plan: dispatch, greeters at hotel stops, signage, and curb staff at the Hawaii Convention Center. That crew is quoted with the vehicles or through staffing. Bilingual staff are sourced as needed.
